After a long hard busy winters season always sitting at a desk
I went looking for an avenue
to relieve some stress and found it on the Bow River. With three sons
at home and being a
fan of Mark Twain, I thought I might like to go fishing and still
get paid for it and chuckled
at the thought of it. Such a gift, I reasoned, could become an enterprise
in which all parties gained.
I've packed some kind of fishing rod while surveying in all of the back
and front places
throughout Alberta always seeking out the trout and the Bow River is
the most rewarding.
Having grown up in a river guiding family and being an avid fisherman
I had the tools
needed to build a guiding company. Where though, to recruit some guides.
I wanted someone
who really wanted to be out there, so to better enhance any journey.
Why not look for other
people just like myself. People with a job looking to balance their
life with a peaceful outing
once in a while. Wait a minute. That sounded like it could be a client.
This symetry birthed
the idea for the FLY FISHING EXCHANGE.
What if you could drive the ten minutes down to the Bow, toss on a fishing
hat and immediately
jump into a canoe and push off already searching the river bottom for
trout shadows at a rate that can be afforded!
Now Tom Sawyer, what if I said I would give you a hundred bucks the
next time you wanted to do the same thing!
