Fishing Report 20 May 2008

Fish Creek put in dirty again this week but made no difference as it matched
browns with the river. Visibility was 1 foot, flow increasing. Water temp
(surface) 9°C. The new launch at Glenmore all good! Fishing was slow, two
smaller (for the Bow) rainbows all day. Best fish was the long distance release
of a large cutbow. She had been hooked before I could tell as the first run
was straight upstream, looking for some slack line, and then five perfect two
footer loop jumps close in front of me. After the fourth jump I thought "If she
keeps this up I'm sure to lose her" which on the fifth of course I did. Lost in
thought again! No other boats and two other fisherman on the water. Mayflies
and midges the only bugs and didn't see one riser all day. All fish took a hares
ear nymph fished near the bottom.

On the river 9 AM - 3 PM.
