Fishing Report 15 July 2008

Glenmore Trail - Policemans Flats

A calmer river now compared to two weeks ago. Good water clarity
at just more than 2 foot. Small green stoneflies, millers and golden stones
seen for bugs. Best fish was a 19 inch rainbow caught from the shoreline
nymphed on a golden stone. Good to see them filling out in weight able
to strip out line and play longer! A hares ear took a brown, again off of
the bank, but found fish away to midstream as well. Just couldn't catch
them. Several hits drifting from the boat; hares ear, copper john and SJW
all working but I watched the quick of the strike regretfully, each time with
paddle in hand. Yet another good day. The storm clouds hurried the last
couple of kilometers and the clouds broke open straight after arrival so it
was a dry, warm enough trip but who minds a little rain anyway?

On the river 9 AM - 3:45 PM.
