Fishing Report 02 October 2008

Glenmore Trail - Policeman's Flats
I'm used to breaking ice from the line guides in October but today was the last of
the summer weather with 25°C temperatures, sunshine and no wind....... Oh it was
pleasant. The most entertaining fish was a fat 'ol whitefish which had to bounce himself
comically over the bottom rocks he was so fat on his way back to the pool when
released in the shallows. Lots of fish caught, 15-20, a mix of browns and rainbows.
Largest was a BIG rainbow played for 15min and lost at the net. 4-5 fish in the 20
inch range. A #14 prince's nymph was the best fly of the day although copper johns
accounted well and 2-3 were on a SJW. Was a lot of entertainment, made more
pleasant with the knowledge that indeed the ice will arrive soon to choke up the line guides.

On the river 9 AM - 5:00 PM.

Water Temp (surface) =  11°C, (51°F)
