Fishing Report 07 October 2008

Glenmore Trail - Fish Creek Park
Had some good action at a pool not far from the launch site and caught
3 rainbows, all on a copper john. Tried prince's nymphs too with no luck.
Best fish was a strong 20 incher that ran out a lot of line and had me palming
the reel to hold on to him. The GPS radio signalled a weather alert and there
was a severe weather high wind 85 km/hour advisory so I decided to paddle
out the remaining 5 km hoping to be ahead of the worse of it. High winds
came all right and it was a workout struggle with the winds gusting and
changing direction bracing and sailing along. Always a good day! I learned
again I was able and prepared. Think. Remain calm and expectant. React.
Never panic when the wind blows down.

On the river 9:00 AM - 1:15 PM.
